Debbie Danford

Director

As grant administrator for the Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute and the Texas Water Resources Institute, Debbie Danford manages proposal, budget and work plan development. She facilitates the submission of proposals by serving as a liaison between the institutes and Texas A&M’s Sponsored Research Service.  She ensures that grants, contracts and proposals move successfully through the funding and approval process, and monitors progress of funded activities. 

Before joining NRI in 2007, she was team lead for the Texas General Land Office's Coastal Management Program.

She has a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from New Mexico State University and is a graduate and alumni of Texas AgriLife Extension's Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership (TALL) program.

    

Abigail Holmes

Administrative Support

In her current role as a Project Coordinator, Abigail provides strategic communications support through the development of educational conservation resources for private landowners and natural resource professionals. She provides editorial support for publications, coordinates educational content delivery to Texas A&M University students, leads the design of communications materials, and manages the Institute's social media channels to support the comprehensive communications pipeline from exploration to publication. 

She provides program support to initiatives under the Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) and the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board's partnership focused on effectively managing invasive wild pig populations across the Texas landscape.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University in 2018, with a concentration in Conservation Ecology.
