Dr. Garrett Hopper is an aquatic ecologist with strong interests in community ecology, biodiversity-ecosystem function relationships, and management and conservation. His research interfaces community and ecosystem ecology to quantify the functional role of fish and mussels in riverine ecosystems and is motivated by the urgency to understand consequences of global change on processes performed by freshwater animals that scale to whole ecosystems. He holds a Ph. D. in Biology from Kansas State University.
